<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I will show you My salvation".

He promises me:
  "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation". (Ps. 91:15,16)

My response to the word:
  God invites me to call upon Him, and He promises to answer my prayers. Furthermore, He promises to deliver me and to honour me. Then He goes a step further - He promises to give me long life, and to show me His salvation. Six promises in one Scripture verse! Each one is better than the other. The great love of my heavenly Father simply amazes me.

My prayer:
  Lord, I love you. Thank you for your promises of answered prayer, the help of your presence, your deliverance, honour, longevity, and salvation. I claim those promises as I pray. I praise you for your goodness to me.

Today's scriptures:
 "He was the source of life, and that life was the life for humanity". (John 1:4 GW) "When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with Him in glory". (Col. 3:4 GW)

Quote for today:
No one can make you again but He who made you the first time. (W Fullerton)

On this day:
On 26th September 1897, Charles C. Overton, a Sunday school superintendent at Brighton Chapel, Staten Island, spontaneously promotes the idea of a Christian flag. The Rally Day speaker hadn't shown up, so Overton gave an extemporaneous address on Christian meanings for the elements of the American flag. The red, white, and blue cross flag Overton later helped devise was first sewn around 1907 and continues to be used in some churches.
