<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I will be near you when you call upon Me in truth".

He promises me:
  "The Lord is near to all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth". (Ps. 145:18)

My response to the word:
  God promises to be near to me when I draw near to Him. The Apostle James wrote, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you". (James 4:8) I will begin each day by drawing near to God, and I will continue to draw near to Him throughout each day. This is a wonderful promise: to know that Almighty God will come close to me when I call upon Him.

My prayer:
  Almighty Father, thank you for wanting to be near to me. Thank you for inviting me to draw near to you so that you can be near to me. I respond to that invitation in faith and truth.

Today's scriptures:
 "Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness. You have freed me from my troubles". (Ps. 4:1 GW) "Give thanks to the Lord. Call on Him. Make known among the nations what He has done". (Ps. 105:1 GW) "Come close to God, and He will come close to you". (James 4:8 GW) "So if you call God your Father, live your time as temporary residents on earth in fear." (1 Peter 1:17 GW)

Quote for today:
God has given us a will to choose His will. (Henrietta Mears)

On this day:
On 27th September 1805, George Muller was born in Kroppenstaedt, Prussia. After his conversion he founded the Muller Homes in Bristol, England taking care of thousands of orphan children. He was a great man of prayer and the stories of his faith in Almighty God are inspiring and challenging. He died in Bristol in 1898 at age 93 years, having never once asked people for money to support his orphanges, but relying solely on God for provision.
On 27th September 2022, Brother Andrew (Andrew van der Bijl) died at age 94 years. He founded Open Doors and was involved in Bible distribution to closed countries.
